Upcoming movie based on award-winning book
I.M. / Instant Messenger—The Motion Picture is a project currently underway from Tangerine Sky Productions, Ltd. In most cases “I.M.” stands for "Instant Messaging," but this story is about just who that messenger is, and to whom he is sending those messages. I.M. is based on author Kevin Scott Collier's award-winning book "barthpenn@heaven.org" about an angel in Heaven who corresponds with a young boy on Earth via email. The movie expands on the theme and upgrades email to modern day texting. The fiction chapter for tweeners "barthpenn@heaven.org" received 5-star ratings from Amazon. One reviewer called it "a masterpiece of communication."

Pathway from the book to the making of the movie
I.M. replaces email with instant messaging. Jordon (Caleb Bohn), at first doesn't believe he's receiving messages from a heavenly "messenger." He soon discovers the angel, Bartholomew, and his messages are real. Bartholomew (Bart) is a guardian angel who thinks he's breaking the rules at times, but is unknowingly in God's perfect will. In effort to encourage Jordon, he sometimes appears transparent to the boy. Bart's mischief gets him in trouble with the "higher up” angels, but, unbeknownst at the time, turns out to be all a part of God's perfect plan. The voice of God and angel Bart role
The voice of God for the movie is performed by voice artist Steve Mathisen, who is one of the many voice professionals who are volunteering their time graciously for Tangerine Sky Productions, Ltd. projects. Steve was selected as the overwhelming choice for the role. The role of Bart the angel will be played by Kevin Collier, who wrote the book the movie is based on. In the movie Collier will appear transparent when angel Bart reveals himself to the Jordon Mink. Friendships make it all happen

The cast young members in I.M. don't have to "act as friends," they are friends in real life. All have attended the same chool and their parents are friends, as well. The boys and girls have acted in school play productions, participated as team mates in sporting events and routinely hang out. So, there is a natural chemistry that exists in real life that will reveal itself in the movie. It's about true friends who care about each other in this fiction model, and their faith, which requires no "acting" at all. Many child extras will appear also, who are wonderful youths we meet along the way during production. Pictured left to right: Adin Bohn and Connor Lange.

Preparing for a scene with Caleb and the angel
A light moment on the set as Caleb Bohn (at left), who plays lead character Jordon Mink, smiles as he prepares for a scene with his guardian angel Bartholomew, played by Kevin Collier. In the movie, the image of Bartholomew will appear transparent via special effects.

Watch a "working" clip from the upcoming movie
Jordon Mink (played by Caleb Bohn) texts his guardian angel Bart at sunset on the Grand Haven (MI) beach after seeing his favorite and, VOTA, in concert. The clip features the music of VOTA, and singing of band leader Bryan Olesen, who was formerly with the band The Newsboys. VOTA has graciously provided several studio tracks from their two albums for this movie. Watch this touching clip from the upcoming movie here: I.M. MOVIE CLIP.

Gifted actors and actressses to join the project
The professional actors and actresses who will appear in the movie via blue-screen in a scene in heaven include James Runcorn (in the TV shows "Wipeout," "The District" and the movie "InAlienable.") Also, appearing as the voices of angels are Scott Kolden (Disney child star and of "Sigmond and the Sea Monsters") and Kasey Cruise (popular Michigan radio personality.) Photo: James Runcorn.

Voices of angels in movie include pop music icons
The list unfolding for the voices of angels reads like a hit parade of classic rock and pop music. They include Sony Geraci (lead singer of The Outsiders and Climax), Jim Yester (lead singer of The Association (who sang on the hits "Never My Love" and "Cherish") and Tim Corwin (lead singer of The Ohio Express.)

The soundtrack and movie shooting schedule
Shooting has already began in late July and will wrap up by the end of this year. The movie will pictorially journey through summer, fall and winter. The photography is digital, high definition, 1080p. Studio tracks from the band VOTA will be featured on the soundtrack. The band did a live performance for the movie, filmed during Unity 2010, a CCM festival. SEE A CLIP HERE. They will also have a speaking role, appearing with leading cast member Caleb Bohn. Writer and singer Alan O'Day (of the hit song "Undercover Angel") is providing some new studio tracks of faith that will also appear in the movie soundtrack. The movie is expected to be completed in early 2011. The book the movie will be based on can be purchased here online. Pictured: The VOTA band.
